Delta steady At #1, Irvine Valley climbs to #6 on State Women's Volleyball Top 25
San Joaquin Delta College is a clear cut favorite to make it to the 3C2A state championship final eight as the only undefeated team still going with now a 20-0 record.
The Mustangs were the #1-rated team in the first CCCWVCA State Top 25 Rankings back in early September and haven't let go of that title as they stand on top in this week's #8 ratings.
Delta has established itself with two State Players of the Week this year in returning 2022 All-American outside hitter Kiyah Irby (opening week) and setter Caprise Brock (selected a week ago).
The top 5 stayed in position as #2 Feather River, #3 Grossmont, #4 San Diego Mesa and #5 Sierra have each established some separation from the rest of the teams. Irvine Valley (#6) and Fresno City (#7) traded spots.
The IVC Lasers have won nine in a row. With pre-conference sweeps over new #8 Moorpark, #17 Mt. San Antonio as well as two convincing sweeps over OEC foe and #14 Cypress, they have for now solidified their standing as a top 10 squad.
Ventura at #9 and Lassen at #10 round out the top 10.
