RIVERSIDE - It remains a battle between three unbeaten teams for the top spot in the California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) as No. 1 Cerritos, No. 2 Sierra, and No. 3 Santiago Canyon pave the way.
All three teams are neck-and-neck in their respected conferences as they continue to remain a consistent rulers of the pitch. Cerritos looks to haul in their sixth state title in the past seven years, while Santiago Canyon is eyeing their third championship in program history. Sierra looks to earn their first-ever state title. It is anyone’s crown to take at this point in the season.
Fresno City looks to make it back-to-back state title and become one of just four teams to win consecutive state championships. De Anza (’93, ’94), Cypress (’98, ’99) Cerritos (’07, ’08, ’12, ’13, ’14, ’15, ’16) and Long Beach (’97, ’98) have accomplished the feat.
No. 7 Lake Tahoe continues to push for perfection in their conference while sitting atop the Golden Valley Conference, while No. 6 San Bernardino sits one slot ahead of them in the Pacific Coast Northern Conference.
