CSM SOFTBALL CONTINUES TO ROLL, 8-0, OVER WEST VALLEY

SAN MATEO -- Emily McAdams threw a complete game 1-hitter and struckout 11 as College of San Mateo's women's softball team defeated visiting West Valley College, 8-0, in 6 innings Thursday afternoon.

The only hit was a slow infield bouncer towards the pitcher's mound on which Hunter Miramontes was just able reach first base.

Aubrie Businger and Kaitlyn Grech both went 3-for-3 at the plate for CSM (6-1), top-ranked in Northern California and No. 2 in the state preseason poll. West Valley fell to 3-3. Kaylyn Sterling had two doubles and scored twice.

NEXT: CSM is scheduled to visit Cosumnes River on Saturday at 10 a.m. for a doubleheader which includes Fresno City College, weather permitting.
