IRVINE - The top 10 teams stayed the same in this week’s version of the California Community College Men’s Volleyball Coaches Association State Poll.

But with a week to go in the regular season there is a lot still on the line. Conference standings and playoff seeds remain in the balance.

Orange Coast continued as a unanimous No. 1 for the ninth straight week. The Pirates are 20-0 overall and 7-0 in the Orange Empire Conference. OCC clinched the outright OEC title last week. They beat their district rival, Golden West in four sets on the road last Wednesday and then swept Santiago Canyon at home. To show how dominant OCC has been, the set loss to Golden West was only its eighth of the year and first in conference play. Will Anderson had 12 kills and Braden Neumann recorded 11 digs in the Pirates’ 25-13, 25-16, 20-25, 25-11 win over the Rustlers.

Orange Coast, behind Kyle McCauley, who ranks tops in the state in hitting percentage at .383, looks to wrap up an undefeated regular season in a match at Fullerton Friday.

Long Beach City, coming off its big win over El Camino the previous week, remained at No. 2. The Vikings won their lone match last week, sweeping at Santa Monica, 25-22, 25-16, 25-17. Kyle Anema led the charge with 15 kills and hitting .481. Joseph Roca contributed 38 assists. It was LBCC’s ninth win in a row.

Long Beach plays Moorpark at home on Wednesday and then has a tough match at No. 4 Santa Barbara City on Friday to end the regular season.

The Vikings and No. 3 El Camino are tied for first place in the Western State Conference – each with a record of 9-1.

El Camino had a roller coaster of a week. It earned a big 28-26, 25-21, 25-17 sweep over Santa Barbara at home last Wednesday and then rallied to beat Moorpark on the road Friday, winning the final two sets, including the fifth set, 15-11. Cinjun Coe came through for the Warriors with 20 kills and Joseph Sico added 44 assists.

El Camino plays host to LA Pierce on Wednesday and then Santa Monica Friday.

Santa Barbara held on to the No. 4 position for the second straight week. The Vaqueros have just one match this week – the regular season finale against Long Beach at home.

Irvine Valley is at No. 5 and plays at No. 8 Golden West Wednesday and hosts No. 8 Santiago Canyon on Friday in what could be important matches for the Lasers in terms of playoff seeding. IVC can wrap up second place in the OEC with a win Wednesday.

The rest of the top 10 includes Moorpark at No. 6, Santiago Canyon at seventh, Golden West at No. 8, Santa Monica at ninth and Grossmont rounding out the group.

Grossmont can clinch the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference title outright on Wednesday with a win at San Diego Mesa. The Griffins went into this week 4-0 in the PCAC.

Notes: Top stat leaders in the state include Matthew Roussin of Santiago Canyon at 4.14 kills per set, Bhrycen Asuncion of Santa Monica at 2.78 digs per set (with Tomas Beralas of Golden West – 2.77 and Dane Johnson of El Camino – 2.76 right behind), Jake Loudenback of Orange Coast at 1.54 blocks per set, Demetre Gossette of Irvine Valley at 0.93 aces per set and Joshua Loyd of Santiago Canyon at 9.72 assists per set.
