RIVERSIDE - The top three hold strong in this week’s California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) as Mt. San Antonio, Cerritos and Fresno City continue to pace the state, respectively. Two new members rejoin the top 20, but the bulk of the squads remain consistent.
Top-ranked Mt. San Antonio continues to run the state with an undefeated record of 13-0-1 and 17-2 goals scored differential. In their last three games, the Mounties have not allowed a single score highlighted by a 4-0 win over East Los Angeles. Gerardo Cazares was responsible for the first two scores of the game. Alain Hernandez earned the win after reeling in four saves.
No. 2 Cerritos stays tied atop the South Coast Conference with Mt. SAC despite tying with LA Harbor last week. They are coming off of a 4-0 victory against Rio Hondo. Both Mt. SAC and Cerritos with face off on Friday for the league advantage.
No. 3 Fresno City remains atop the Central Valley Conference despite two-straight ties, while No. 4 Oxnard remains in the same position as last week. No 5 Butte leaps into the top-five after defeating Lake Tahoe and American River.
Two Orange Empire Conference (OEC) teams round out the top-10 in No. 9 Orange Coast and No. 10 Cypress, No. 15 Foothill makes the leap into the top-15 after being ranked 18th last week. No. 19 San Francisco and No. 20 Golden West round out the rankings after missing the cut last week.
