 Cerritos Defeats Long Beach in Championship Match, 11-6
Number 3 South, Cerritos College, behind the outstanding goal tending of Miranda Bakke scored early and often to hold on for an 11-6 win over South no. 2 Long Beach City College. Early in the fourth quarter with 7:40 left in the game Bakke stopped a penalty shot by Raylynn Castillo and all but sealed the victory for Cerritos. For the Cerritos women it is the first time in school history that they have won the State Championship.
