Fresno, CA... Ventura's Jeroen Van Ruler picked up two titles at the California Community College championships at Copper River Country Club in Fresno.

Van Ruler captured the singles title by defeating College of the Desert's Anthony Gomez 7-6, 6-3 and later teamed with partner Jason Mossembekker to win the doubles final over Fresno City College's Daniel Ndlela and Frank Scalia 6-2, 6-3.

In the women's singles final, Orange Coast College's Michelle Esquival capped a perfect weekend by defeating Saddleback's Amanda Varela 6-2, 6-2 for her back to back state championships.

Esquival also won the doubles title the day before with teammate Jessica Rice and was a member of the OCC team that won the dual team championship on Friday.
