DESERT ADDS TO DYNASTY WITH ANOTHER
STATE CROWN
CARLSBAD - College of the Desert left little doubt
as to which is the best team in the state. Needing only a little more
than an hour, the Southern California Regional champion Roadrunners
scored a convincing 5-0 win over Northern California Regional winner
Fresno City College to capture the California Community College Men's
Dual Team Tennis State Championship today at
La Costa Resort. For the Roadrunners, it is their fifth straight state
title. They have now won six state championships in the last seven years,
and a total of nine in the last 12 years.
Dali Ptak put College of the Desert on top quickly with a 6-2, 6-0 win
over Kyle Klopf at No. 4 singles, while Rye Kashiwabara followed with
a 6-1, 6-1 win over Josh Treadwell at No. 3. At virtually the same time,

long after, the title became official when No. 1 Adriano Biasella defeated
