CCCPE California Community College Physical Educators An affiliate organization of the Commission on Athletics A Letter From The CCCPE President Rich Schroeder: To Members of CCCPE Below is an email that was sent out to all the CIOs in the state from Vice Chancellor Barry Russell concerning a time line for repeatability. This is not the time to sit back and let your guard down. Use this extra time provided to take a good look at your curriculum and what you are doing in class. Prepare yourself to have curricular changes ready to go should we need to use them. Take some time to see exactly what you are grading your students on. At our Spring meeting held during the CCCAA convention in April, we will be discussing this and other important issues. Please plan on attending, at least for our CCCPE meeting which is scheduled for Wednesday April 4th at 1:45 - 3:45. 2006-07 CCCPE Goals: -Continue to raise funds to promote California Community College Physical Education so we can identify and support or oppose new legislation in the California legislature where we continue to be misunderstood and singled out for poor legislation -Continue to improve our membership so we can become a larger voice in the governance of the State -Submit a revision recommending changes in the Disciplines List for Minimum Qualifications for faculty hired in Physical Education -Create opportunities to hold meetings and workshops addressing critical issues in physical education Solicitation for State Committee On behalf of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and the California State Board of Education, the Curriculum Development and Supplemental Materials Commission is seeking experts in physical education to serve on the Physical Education Curriculum Framework and Criteria Committee (CFCC). This committee will assist in the creation of a draft Physical Education Framework for California Schools: Kindergarten Through Grade Twelve.
