THE CCCAA ANNOUNCES ITS 2012 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES-2/3/2012 -
The California Community College Athletic Association is pleased to announce the 2012 class of inductees into the California Community College Sports Hall of Fame. The 2012 class includes George Culver (Bakersfield College), Jermaine Dye (Cosumnes River College), Simeon Iness (Compton College), Brig Owens (Fullerton College), and Lon Simmons (Glendale Community College).

IVC WINS THE SEASON OPENING LBCC INVITATIONAL-1/30/2012 -
The 2012 men's volleyball season opened up on Sunday with the defending state champions, Irvine Valley College, defeating El Camino 25-18 in the final to win the Long Beach City College Invitational.

SECOND-CHANCE VAQUEROS WIN TOURNAMENT-1/29/2012 -
The Vaqueros opened up their 2012 softball season in the Vaquero Softball Classic on Saturday. After losing its quarterfinal game, the Glendale Community College Lady Vaqueros weren't expecting to play in the final rounds the next day.
But when Ventura College announced it would be unavailable to continue, the Vaqueros took its spot and took full advantage of the second chance as GCC went on to win its host tournament for the first time in its seven-year history.

SIX FORMER CCCAA STUDENT-ATHLETES TO COMPETE IN SUPER BOWL XLVI-1/25/2012 -
The CCCAA is proud to announce six former California Community College student-athletes competing in Super Bowl XLVI. On the Patriots roster is wide receiver Julian Edelman (College of San Mateo), cornerback Sterling Moore (Laney College), wide receiver Chad Ochocinco (Santa Monica College) and Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line Coach, Dante Scarnecchia (Taft College). On the Giants side is defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul (College of the Canyons) and defensive end Dave Tollefson (Los Medanos College).
